Break Bad Habits
Build Better Ones
Become Better Men

- Nate Whitson -
"I don't know what' s wrong with me. I want to change but I just don't know how! Nothing seems to work."
I have felt this and said this so many times it's not funny.
This is truly one of the most frustrating feelings in the world!
You want to be a better husband but everytime a conflict in your marriage pops up you lose your temper and blow it.
You want to be a better father but whenever the kids say that want to play or hang out you go passive and weak and make an excuse for why you can't.
You want to be a better follower of Jesus but when it comes to reading your bible everyday and making it a priority, you always seem to find a reason not to.
Over and over again we struggle with this issue of wanting to change but not knowing how or what to do.
In many ways, changing old habits and creating new ones feels like a war. And it is!
My mission with Get In The Fight is to help men learn how to change when change is hard so they can be the men that God meant for them to be.
Here's something that can help you do that today. It's my definition of how behavior change happens. It's this:
Behavior change happens when you really want to change, it's easy to change, and you're reminded to change.
It looks like this as a formula:
B = W.A.R.
B = Behavior
W = Want: you want to change and have a strong WHY to do it
A = Action: you know how to get there and what to do
R = Reminder: you have reminders set up to help you remember to do it

Let's look at just one example that I help with men when it comes to changing behavior.
Behavior change? Quit porn for good.
Want? You want to quit porn, be a man of discipline, and honor God and your marriage.
Action? When tempted, you'll text a friend: "Feeling tempted. Check on me later."
Reminder? You put a screen saver on your phone that says, "I am a man of discipline. I do the hard right things over the easy wrong things every time!"
This is what it looks like to go to W.A.R. over porn and change your behavior.
The key?
Make change as easy as possible and start super small!
Small victories build momentum. (Here's the system I teach for free) They don't win the WAR by themselves, but they lead you there and put you on the path.
So, what area of your life do you want to change the most?
Go to W.A.R. and figure out how to make change as easy you can!

P.S.
What makes this approach different or better?
You’ve probably tried and failed a million times before, right? I have too. So many times and I definitely still will!
So, what makes this idea different?
It's not about you trying harder. It's about you making it easier.
The key to changing the behaviors you hate (or starting ones you love) is to lower the bar, get quick wins, and build momentum that actually sticks.
