Break Bad Habits

Become Better Men

- Nate Whitson -
"Change is freakin' hard!"
That's what I tell men all the time.
Of course, that's not breaking news or something you don't already know, but it needs to be said before you set out to change some things in this upcoming New Year or start a program like my Start Super Small System.
This obvious statement is key to change because of the world we live in today and the messages we constantly receive.
-
“Lose 10 pounds in 10 days—no exercise required!”
-
“Double your income in 30 days with this one simple trick.”
-
“Get shredded in just 15 minutes a day!”
-
“Rewire your brain overnight with this 3-minute morning habit.”
We want fast answers and fast fixes, and we have very little patience for things that require more than instant gratification.
It shouldn't be this way, we know, but it is.
So the solution - if you're trying to change - can be summed up like this:
Make change as easy as possible!
I know that sounds very "duh!" - but most men don't take the time to do this, and they should.
For example, let's say your goal is to lose that stubborn body fat around your midsection and you want to drop a few pounds.
Will that be easy or hard to do?
For most of us, losing weight is freakin' hard!
The best thing you can do in light of that truth is to make it as easy as possible.

That might include things like:
- Prepping lunches so they're healthier and you don't eat out as often.
- Setting your exercise clothes out the night before.
- Emptying your pantry of tempting junk food that easily derails you.
- Set a tall glass of water by your coffee maker so you drink it first.
- Tracking your food with a free food app for a week to raise awareness of calories consumed each day.
This is what it means to focus on your system and not your goals.
The things you do matter much more than the goals you make.
If you want to reach those goals, make it easier to do what you know you should do.
It's a simple idea but it will change your life if you'll actually take the time to make doing the right things easier and the bad things harder.
This is the gist of my Start Super Small System.
Try it today and see how you can make it easier to do the right things that will lead you to reach your hard goals.
Simply ask yourself this question, then act on it:
"How can I make it easier to do what I need/want to do?"
Change is freakin' hard! But you can make it easier if you try.
I suggest you do!
Nate

P.S.
Even if weight loss isn’t your thing, this question (and system that I teach) works for anything—your marriage, your mindset, your self-control, etc.
Any hard change becomes easier when you start super small.
That's the power behind the system that I created for Christian men. Its all about making change easier because changing is freakin' hard for most of us to do!
Start here: determine what changes you want to make and then make it easier to change.
That's the key to getting where you want to go!
