Better Man Newsletter
A weekly newsletter for Christian men
that's actually worth reading!

Question of the Week:
"Am I leading my family spiritually, or am I leaving that to someone else?"
3 Actions or Ideas:
-
Start a Simple Family Prayer Time: Pray together as a family once a day (or as often as you can). It doesnât need to be longâjust a few minutes to thank God and bring your familyâs concerns to Him. Ask if anyone has any prayer requests and include those if they do. Taking the lead in prayer sets the tone for your home, and it's critical that men find ways to do this more often.
-
Share a Bible Verse at Dinner: Pick one verse and read it during a meal. Ask one simple question like, âWhat does this mean to you?â or "What stands out to you?" or âHow can we live this out this week?â This is an easy way to have spiritual conversations without feeling too forced or formal.
-
Be the Example: Your family is watching how you live. Make time for your own relationship with God by praying and reading the Bible every day. Let them "catch you" reading or praying or serving as often as possible. Remember: more is caught - than taught!
Why It Matters
Leading your family spiritually doesnât mean you have to be a Bible scholar or have it all together. It starts by simply taking small, intentional steps to invite God into your familyâs daily life and routines. It's about showing your family that your relationship with Christ is genuine and real and not just something you do on Sundays or because you "have to".
Itâs easy to assume someone elseâlike your wife, a pastor, or the church you attendâis responsible for guiding your familyâs spiritual growth. But God calls you and me, as the leaders of our homes, to step into this role. Ephesians 6:4 reminds fathers to âbring [their children] up in the training and instruction of the Lord.â Your leadership in the home is your responsibility!
You donât need to have all the answers. Just be willing to take action, trust God, and keep it simple. Small things, like praying together or sharing a Scripture at dinner, can truly impact your family for many generations.
So be honest: are you leading your family closer to Jesus or leaving it to chance? This week, take one small step to lead them spiritually, and trust that God will do the hard work of changing their hearts!
