Wouldn't you love to have your own personal butler?
You know, someone whose sole purpose is to take care of whatever you need so you can focus on what's most important?

Well, I've got some good news and bad news for you today:
The good news: You can (I'm serious)!
The bad news: That guy is YOU!
Here's what I mean:
When it comes to creating change in your life, you need help setting up your environment to win. This is super critical and often overlooked.
If you had a butler, you would instruct this person to make sure that you had everything at your disposal to win over distraction, temptation, or anything else that may take away your attention from doing the right things.
In fact, if I had a butler, here are some of the things I'd have him or her do:
- Set out my exercise shoes and clothes the night before so that when I woke up in the morning, it was right there for me to put on immediately. This would make it so much easier and efficient to work out and start my day on the right foot.
- Have my coffee in the coffee pot with a timer set and my coffee mug set out already so that it was ready to go when I walked out of my bedroom. I'd also ask that they have a large glass of water set out next to the coffee maker or my Bible to help me increase my water intake each day as well.
- Have my Bible on the table next to where I drink my coffee so it's easy to pick up and obvious what to read.
- Pre-make a healthy lunch option, so I don't overeat or eat foods that work against my health goals.
- Have all of my vitamins laid out before I go to bed so that they are right there when I get up, and I can't miss them.
- Have them schedule my most important tasks for the next day on my calendar each night, so I don't have to guess what I'm doing or what priorities I have to get done.
You get the point.
If I had a butler, I'd have them help my future self thank my past self for making it so easy to win the day!
Change is hard, but much is self-inflicted. We simply don't give any thought to our lives, and then we wake up hoping that we feel inspired or motivated to do what we say is most important to us.
Maybe you know this by now - but that just doesn't work on enough days to win at life.
So, if you want to be a better disciple of Christ, a better man, husband, father, etc, then you need to be your own butler. Make it easy and obvious to win each day, and then watch how much momentum you gain in your life.
The best news of all...you don't have to pay anything to be your own butler!
If you were your own butler, what would you have you do? (Now...go do it and win the day!)

P.S.
If you’ve tried to change before and couldn’t keep it going, it’s probably not because you lack discipline—it’s because you never had a system that made obedience easier.
That’s exactly why Training For Change exists. It helps you build simple, repeatable setups that remove friction and support the man you’re becoming, not just the man you hope to be.
When your environment is trained, consistency follows—and so does real growth.
