"I'm just so busy!"
"I don't have time to do that. Sorry."
"I'd love to, but my schedule is just so packed!"
"My life is just so crazy right now. I'll try to catch up with you later."
Do you ever feel that way?
Do you ever think those thoughts?
I'm guessing you might.
It's one of the biggest issues that I see and hear in men's stories today. In fact, I think it's one of the greatest mistakes we're making as men.
That might sound a little extreme, but I think it's true.
Culture has pushed us to see busyness as a badge of honor. But it's anything but that.

Remember when Jesus said this?
“Martha, Martha,” the Lord answered, “you are worried and upset about many things, but few things are needed—indeed only one.”
— Luke 10:41-42 (NIV)
Martha was probably a lot like you and me.
- Worried about all the things she needed to get done.
- Anxious about the details.
- Grinding.
- Hustling.
- Busy.
But Jesus didn't commend her for this, and I don't think He's commending you and me either.
So what's the solution?
1. Resist the push to make busyness your badge of honor.
See it for what it is and how it's impacting you, your life, your health, your family, etc.
2. Then, control your calendar.
Recognize that you're busy and always feeling rushed, pressed for time, never able to slow down because you chose that pace.
Control your calendar and stop letting it control you.
3. Say no.
How do you control your calendar? Say no way more than you say yes.
This means you'll miss out on some good things. But not all good things are all that good for you.
Say no and take back control of your life.
