Do you ever feel so defeated at times?
Like the walls are closing in around you?
Like the light has been extinguished, and you can't see anything clearly anymore?
There was a time in my past when I felt so trapped like this.
I was so stuck. So alone, and I felt so defeated.
We had adopted a boy from Ukraine and brought him home, but things were not working out for us. Everything was falling apart.
My marriage was hurting.
My kids were upset.
My life felt like it was crumbling around me.
Without going into more detail, let me just say that I know what it's like to feel like everything is broken and there's no hope to fix it.
I know what it's like to feel defeated.
What about you?
Are you in a place today where you feel stuck, alone, and in the dark?
Can you relate with those who are fighting spiritual darkness and don't know where to run or what else to do?
If so, I just want you to hear these words today:
"I'm with you. I would never leave or abandon you.
Hang on. I've got you!"
Jesus didn't say these words verbatim, but He's saying them to you today.
Listen to similar words in Hebrews 13:5-7:
"I will never fail you. I will never abandon you...The Lord is my helper, so I will have no fear."
The devil can't touch you, but he can get you to believe his lies. That's his goal - to get you to believe that what he says is true.
When you're going through a spiritual battle, his voice seems so loud, doesn't it? It seems so believable.
But...it's a lie.
God has promised you that He will never fail you. That's not just a great song that you might sing about at church. That's a promise!
He will never abandon you. He has not left you. You are not alone in your struggle.
The Lord is your helper, so have no fear.
If you are fighting the darkness, I want you to know that you're not alone. I've been there. Millions of your brothers in Christ have been there, too.
But more importantly, the Lord is with you, and He will never fail you. Turn to Him and trust in Him. He's got you, and He will see you through this!
